I store mainly avi files on my PC, most ripped with Super DVD Ripper and XVid codec. I watch them in one of two ways:

1. Via wired ethernet to Pinnacle Showcenter 200

2. Buurned to DVD as avi file with Deepburner and played on |Samsung HD850.

In either case if I use the skip or ff/fr facility the sync goes completely. In some instances a gun will be fired and a full two seconds or so later the sound is heard.

What can I do to prevent it?adjust it? Please help. This= ruins the enjoyment of everything else at superb quality.

I am surprised and dismayed not to have received a single reply to this question. Am I missing something? Is this a very common problem (I see that some of the latest AV receivers have a lipsync control) or is it something that noone knows the answer to?

No, not a word. That's very unusual too. Everytime I've posted anything on this forum before I've had loads of replies. I've also posted the same question on a number of other forums and no replies there either"! Can anyone help?

i do a lot of home recording on my digi camcorder. i transfer the files to my pc as avi files but they are huge !!.. any way when i finally burn them to dvd i encode them as MPEG2 PAL.. standard .. never have any sync problems etc.. the quality is excellent !! maybe you could consider this as an option untill you get an answer to your avi problem..
