http://s10.invisionfree.com/Cammell_Laird_FC/index.php?act=idx for example I cannot access when connecting via my sky router, but I can access it through a dial-up account.

Has anyone got any ideas on how to resolve this issue?

Any advice appreciated.

I'm with Be who had a similar problem with HSBC last year. I'm having trouble finding the original report but think it was fixed by running this Telnet command on the Be supplied Speedtouch router:

firewall config tcpchecks none

You'll need to find out what the equvalent Netgeasr command is.

Make sure its not a DNS lookup issue by using:

It can't be the modem because your failure is higher up the stack than that.

You don't say what error you are getting just that you can't connect. Try posting exactly what happens.

The reason that things will work when one is attached via dial-up modem and not a router and vice versa is usually because one uses different TCP/IP settings for dial-up and LAN. When attached to a router your connection is via a LAN. (Wired or wireless.)

I get the following 'the page cannot be displayed message. I'm connected to the router via the cat5 network cable.

The page cannot be displayed
The page you are looking for is currently unavailable. The Web site might be experiencing technical difficulties, or you may need to adjust your browser settings.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Please try the following:

Click the Refresh button, or try again later.

If you typed the page address in the Address bar, make sure that it is spelled correctly.

To check your connection settings, click the Tools menu, and then click Internet Options. On the Connections tab, click Settings. The settings should match those provided by your local area network (LAN) administrator or Internet service provider (ISP).
If your Network Administrator has enabled it, Microsoft Windows can examine your network and automatically discover network connection settings.
If you would like Windows to try and discover them,
click Detect Network Settings
Some sites require 128-bit connection security. Click the Help menu and then click About Internet Explorer to determine what strength security you have installed.
If you are trying to reach a secure site, make sure your Security settings can support it. Click the Tools menu, and then click Internet Options. On the Advanced tab, scroll to the Security section and check settings for SSL 2.0, SSL 3.0, TLS 1.0, PCT 1.0.
Click the Back button to try another link.

Check out this thread on Skyuser:

In a nutshell it seems other ISP's need to do a little catching up. They see the Sky IP's as being fake so block them. This problem should fade as time goes on and the other networks realise that the IP addresses they are seeing from Sky users are in fact legit.
