Re: My pics from Toronto and Vegas
Love the shots, very nice. Also aren't the fountains of Bellagio awesome, one of those things you dont expect to be so good until you see them yourself.

Re: My pics from Toronto and Vegas
Think the tower is CN tower in Toronto, not Stratosphere. It is cool though. Lots of nice images.

Re: My pics from Toronto and Vegas
They're all really, really good - lovely crisp shots, and deep rich colours.
The one looking up at the CN tower is dizzying - and would be a good entrant for the "up" competition theme The view from the tower (were you in the restaurant?) is cool - but did you have a UV filter on the lens? Looks a big hazy in the distance... which may of course be a symptom of being a big city
My favourite has to be the one of Niagara falls - lots of detail, a good demonstration of the power, a bit of action with the Lady in the Mist boat, and best of all a different angle to all the other tourist shots of the falls!
Good stuff!

Re: My pics from Toronto and Vegas
Lovely pictures. Reminds me of the times I was there on holiday. Now that I've got a DSLR, I'd love to go back and take some nice shots with the camera.

Re: My pics from Toronto and Vegas
Fantastic shots Chris. The Vegas one's bring back some fond memories having been there a couple of times. Love the place
You didn't happen to take any pictures of the Wynn hotel? They were building it the last time we were there and I should imagine that it would look pretty impressive now, especially at night.
Edit;
I love the composition of the Venetian shot

They are like Vegus itself - sounds 'ok' but once you've seen them/been there you realise just how amazing they/it are.
My favourite song played with the dancing fountains was 'Time to say goobye - Sarah Brightman and Andrea Bocelli' when I was there over Christmas 2001. Went back in November 2003 and they were no longer playing this song - well not when I was standing there. Not all bad though as I walked out of Vegas with more money than I went there with
Mark.
ps, great photos. It's always good to see pics of somewhere you have been

Re: My pics from Toronto and Vegas
Totally agree about the fountains. They were using Celine Dion's Titanic song when I was there 2 years ago. The song is definately not my cup of tea but the way the fountains were choreographed to the music made it a truly unforgetable experience. The sound of the canons firing the water hundreds of feet into the air gave me goosebumps

Re: My pics from Toronto and Vegas
Thanks very much fellas!
Belaggio fountains were stunning, easily on a par with Epcots Illuminations which i seen last year. Seen the 'show' 3 times in one day, two out of the three times they used 'Time to say Goodbye'... gorgeous piece of music and matches the fountains perfectly. Unfortunately i never took a tripod so my night shots were pretty much useless.
Oh and as much as i was delighted at shooting in RAW and getting great results... boy is it a long drawn out affair!

Re: My pics from Toronto and Vegas
That CN tower photo is identical to one on page 28 of the Haynes Digital Photography manual! I'm not saying you didn't take it cos let's face it it ain't gonna change much so any photo taken from that position will look pretty identical, the reason I mention it is because I looked at these photos yesterday and got this book out of the library today cos I fancied doing some reading up on photography, when I saw the pic I thought 'I've seen that somewhere before' lol. Weird how things like that happen, hadn't seen it before yesterday and now seen it twice in 2 days!

How strange!
Can say that the only photography book i've ever read was written by one Brian Peterson so not guilty! lol
It was a last minute thing to take that shot actually, i was more interested in taking them from wider angles with more of the city in view... only tried one of that angle and it turned out as the best one of the lot!
Understand that some people may not be fans of the very blue polarised skys but thats all i've got at the minute, yet to investigate ND filters, yet..
