Just to confirm, it is out. Although I'm not a member of the vista beta (hoping to be in the vienna beta though), posts on neowin.net confirm RC1 has been released.

Oh. My. God.
I love Windows Vista. I cannot explain how surprised I was, really. I'm gobsmacked...
Installation was fast:
Started at: 16.57
Finished at: 17.14
Entered login details at: 17.15
Finshed checking my computer performance at: 17.19
Logged on at: 5.20
Altogether thats 27 mins for installing Windows. Which isn't bad 'cause it takes me 22 mins to install XP.
Vista is really shaping up, if you haven't tried it. YOU NEED TO!

I will be trying it lol. But I don't think I'll be able to use it as my main OS, as with older vista builds, my adsl modem (BT voyager 105 USB modem) doesn't work, and I can't see this changing with RC1 (and yes, I know I should get a proper ethernet modem, but I ain't got much spare change atm).
btw - whats preformance like compared to beta 2?
and for reference purposes, what are your specs?
Cheers.

Cheers.Well this is the first vista build I've installed for real (all the others have been done in vmware)
Specs:-
CPU: Intel Pentium 4 530 3.0 GHz (with HT)
GFX: nVidia GeForce 6800 256MB
SFX: Soundblaster Live! 24-bit (2.1)

I get 4.2 rating from Windows Vista for my system performace/specs.
