Just seen that Sahara is on Sky Movies HD on Saturday - quick question really, anyone seen it and care to pass comment - is it a Tomb Raider / The Mummy / Indiana Jones type thing?

6/10 for me.
Though if your a fan of Pen Cruise then it's an 8:devil: Hell maybe a 9 with it being HD:rotfl: :rotfl:
Mummy/Indi thing indeed. Have you seen National Treasure?
I preferred that to Sahara though I wouldn't entertain the idea of buying either:rolleyes:

Not a bad film, but the pacing is not right, could have done with just a little more action, and a little less talking.

it was ok at best, dragged in places & the action coulda & shoulda been better than it was. If you've nothing better to watch give it a go , elsewise stick with Indy.

Seems like a good 'watch it once with the missus' then?
Cheers everyone.

I enjoyed it it's pretty good apart from Miss Cruz's wooden acting...but hey we all know I'm not watching her for an oscar winning performance now do we.;)

She seems to be a better actress in her mother tongue. Watch Volver, she is outstanding in that.

To be fair Miss Cruz isn't an awful actress, but this is just a forumlaic by the numbers buddy movie and she's the damsel in distress so you can't expect much from her.
I thought it was very poor and as a rule i like that sort of film.

It's a good quality film; doesn't come close to the likes of Indiana Jones but it never pretends to be anything more than it is.
7/10

Its slightly better than average - nowhere near great.
My advice: Don't bother.

Steve Zahn. He's great, you can also observe him being comical in Happy, Texas and Out Of Sight.

Its good for its genre, it entertains, I don't own it, watched it once on DVD rental and perhaps won't watch it again, certainly worth 2hr of your time, but that is all.
Indiana Jones and the Mummy are far better examples. And I know this is going off in a tangent but I recall watch the remake of Flight of the Phoenix at a similar time, I thought that was going to be a really trashy movie, but I really enjoyed it!
There is always room for trashy "comic book" movies...

I think Sahara is quite an enjoyable film. It is the kind of film where you can sit down and watch, and not have to concentrate too much. I've got it on HD-DVD and if the quality on Sky is anything like that, you're in for a treat!!

I watched them at similar times & FOTP was even worse IMO. At least Sahara had a few laughs Flight of the Phoenix was as dull as dish water, mostly.
