Constant low rumbling from sub.
I have the avr 1906 and am running KEF kht 1005 speakers through it but after running auto set up my sub is constantly making a low humm even during movies when there is no bass line present. I never had this problem with my yamaha reciever and the same speakers and am really baffled as to what is causing it. I have fiddled and fiddled and nothing seems to stop it apart from turning the sub to a really low level but then that makes it almost obsolete.
If anyone could make some suggestions to rectify this I would be a very happy camper.

Re: Constant low rumbling from sub.
You could try turning down the LFE level on the amp, that may or may not help.
Obviously, you will have to alter the gain setting on the sub to compensate.

Re: Constant low rumbling from sub.
I would suggest altering the level of your sub to the half way position and then running setup again. It sounds to me as if the sub is turned up too high. Even if setup then lowers its input on LFE to suit it may not be enough.

Re: Constant low rumbling from sub.
I ran auto set up with sub level at 12 o clock, crossover at full and phase at lowest setting then let the reciever do the rest. The sub level on reciever is as low as it will go without being turned off but have not checked the LFE level on reciever. I will have a look at that when i get home from work ( i know, working on a Sunday what a bummer). Really want to get it sorted as it becomes so irritating and the more you try to ignore the more you notice it!!

Re: Constant low rumbling from sub.
Ah, that could be the problem.
You might not be feeding the sub enough signal and are compensating by turning the gain too high.
Try turning the sub up on the receiver and the gain down.

Re: Constant low rumbling from sub.
Also ensure the sub cable is not close to any electric cables.

Re: Constant low rumbling from sub.
Did you get things sorted Rob?
I'm having problems setting the sub with this system too it's always either too much or not enough.
Any tips from anybody would be much appreciated

Hi Billy,
Yes got it sorted just lowered the input level to about 3 o clock then ran auto set up and increased the SW level on amp a couple of db's and voila clean crisp bass and no rumbling at all.
Thanks to all who advised.
