Hi

Quick question is there any software available for recording sound clips from a Dvd ?

I am aware this most likely technically illegal but I only want to record short clips onto CDR.

Stuff like a famous line or snippet of music for quiz purposes.

I can do it via hi-fi eqpt onto cassette tape just wanting to know if possible via PC/CD ?

Cheers

I have done this with some of my concert/stand-up-comedy DVDs to listen to on my iPod. I use DVD Decrypter to get the vob file onto the PC and then use Virtual Dub (http://www.virtualdub.org/) (free) to convert the audio to a wav file. From here you can use iTunes to edit out the part you want and burn to CD (or any other sound editor you have).

Check Video Help (http://www.videohelp.com/). They have a lot of guides and free software for this kind of thing. There may be a single piece of s/w on there somewhere that will do it for you in one go.

Yea its easy, you just need some sound recording software, select the correct input then just playback the DVD and press record.
