Hi,
I have been trying out AIDA32 on some PC's, I would like to re-use the XP License, but there is no sticker on the PC's, they do have XP Professional on them, I have done some reports and that tells me the Product Key, but I have also noticed that it says:-

Microsoft Windows XP Professional 5.1.2600 (WinXP Retail)

Does Retail mean OEM? I presume that this will mean that I need a OEM CD ROM to install it on another machine? Mind you, I don't think you are allowed to re-use OEM, any thoughts?

Thanks

Steve

Retail is what you buy in the shops
OEM is Other equipment manufacters, new PC's only

Retail is what you buy off the shevles and OEM is Original Equipment Manufacturer.

All you need is the CD that came with the machine and the product key (which you now have). As long as you re-install the OEM CD on the machine that the OEM CD came with your a-okay!

Little bit confused about what you said:-

All you need is the CD that came with the machine and the product key (which you now have). As long as you re-install the OEM CD on the machine that the OEM CD came with your a-okay!

I have the Product code from (WinXP Retail), but no CD, so surely all I need is a Retail copy of XP?

Please clarify.

Thanks
