Guys,
One of my mates wants to record straight from his 8-track (Fostex VF08). The option suggested in the manual is to get the SCSI card option and buy an external SCSI drive, which is expensive (£300+)!!.
So I thought he could use the SP-DIF Out and plug it to a CDR. I found the Pioneer PDR609 for £190, which is cheaper than the option above. However, it's been out of stock everywhere I've been!
Is there any other brand/model I should consider that is better and/or cheaper?
Someone suggested to get a sound card w/SPDIF-in, but the computer is in a different room, so it's a no-no. Furthermore, the advantage of the standalone CD-R makes it a straightfoward setup/use.
Thanks!
