Problem Installing

Hi All,

I have got a problem on my laptop.
For some reason I cannot install some software. I don’t get permission issues (running under admin) it just “hangs” :thumbsdow
It seems to only happen when I try and install using windows installer.
I have tried removing and re-installing the installer, but I still have the issue.

Also last night I noticed that the security patch for .Net Framework 2.0 is also failing to install.
Anyone had this problem or is it just me and technology again :god:

The laptop is running XP with Service Patch 2

Try popping your XP CD back in, and click start, run.

Then type; sfc /scannow

It will then bring up a box checking your security files are in tact, then I suggest rebooting and see how far you get. Probably best through ASR though, that's if you know how to use ASR.
