The Samsung player, the first US BD machine, entered the market mid June. No other machines are available yet although a Sony (Samsung clone), Pioneer and Panasonic models are promised in the next 6 months. The PS3 will also be arriving in November.
There have been two BluRay recorders released in Japan - the Panasonic E700 and Sony BDZS77 - but both are non-standard and not compatible with the 'new' BD format.
