Does anyone here know on where you can get sonotube in the UK like you can in america.

I would love to build a sonosub.

Here's a good place to hang out and ask around - very helpful forum.
http://www.diysubwoofers.org/talkshop/

I'm sure I've seen mention of an equivalent in the UK, buit can't remember where - I was looking to build a sub a while back, but wanted it to be a small one, so wasn't really paying attention to sonotubes. Now I'm considering it again, but without the size restriction, so let me know what you find!!

Hi

Rapidobat.

"...Rapidobat incorporates a unique and patented tear off strip which means that stripping is achieved in a matter of seconds..."

That makes it sound like it may not be suitable. I've never seen any so I don't know.

Essextubes will be your best bet.

What are you thinking of building if you don't mind me asking?

Cheers
Boris

I am upgrading my movie sound system.

It which currently comprises of a Denon 355 UK amplifer and a set of Mission M73 floorstanders, while these sound great, I would like to hear full DD5.1 and DTS.

It is time to get more speakers, I am getting a Denon Receiver, M7ds rears and M7c Center.

I feel a bit more low bass would also be nice so, I have been thinking of getting a sub.

The easiest route would be to make a IPL SW2 sub.

Of course a Shiva/Tempest in a sonosub would be louder and deeper but my room is very small 10.5 ft by 10.5 ft by 7 ft, my DIY skills are non existant and I have no tools or area to work in.

So I am up against some constraints.

I have the same problem. I used my kitchen and bedroom as workshops. My skills developed by getting stuck in.

If you pay someone to cut the MDF to the correct size, you can eliminate the need for all but the basic of tools.

Essextubes will deliver what ever tube size you want to your door.

I don't think a Shiva/Tempest would be that much more difficult.
A cylinder sub is far easier to construct than a box.

Cheers
Boris
