Can't view 'old' Film Four films with free Film4

Morning chaps,
At the beginning of the year I got Film Four (as it was then) free for a month. I stored a few films on my Sky+ box with the intention of transferring them to DVD.

However I didn't get round to it by the time the month freebie ended, and once I was no longer subscribed to Film Four I couldnt view them (as I was no longer a subscriber).

However knowing it was going to be free at some point I kept them on the box on the assumption that they would be viewable again once Film4 came back as free to view.

Well guess what. No joy. Still can;t view them. Get the same error message as before saying I need to subscribe to FilmFour to view them.

Has anyone got any ideas on ways round this ?? Or am I just wasting space on the Sky+ box ??

Cheers in advance.

If you wanted to archive them then you should have done so when you had access. There's nothing that can be done now. I wouldn't worry about it though as they're more than likely be repeated at some point.

Didn't realise I was going to lose viewing access when I unsubscribed from Film Four. Bit of a cheek if you ask me.

Only prob with repeats now is they will loaded with adverts.

As with all the other SKY encrypted channels, the saved stuff on your SKY+ is still encrypted and won't do any good without the correct card and subscription for copying to a DVD/VHS let alone watching them.

What I'm trying to say is; The programs you actually watch from the SKY+ box are being decrypted while you watch them :-)

Yeah, I could edit them out, but a bit of hassle though. Especially when they are sitting in the full intact glory on the Sky+ box.

Guess just going to have to delete them. At least it will liberate about 15% from the box.

It said in my letter from Sky that recorded films would not be accessible after 19th July.

"A bit of a cheek.."?! What about "I stored a few films on my Sky+ box with the intention of transferring them to DVD"? Have you thought of buying the film on DVD instead of attempting to steal them?
