Question Changing from ntl to sky?

I'm thinking about changing from ntl to sky but i'm confused about the sort of connection that is required to a telephone line.If my existing cable box is removed and replaced with a sky box ,can it be connected directly to the cabling from ntl?Afterall i'm on a broadband bundle that is connected all thru to the phone system.So can i use the infrastructure of ntl to connect to sky? Cheer's daz

I can't see why not, so long as you have a phone socket. But you could try phoning Sky Customer service on 0870 905 9051.

You can't connect sky to your existing NTL connection, you will have to have a dish installed and new cable.
NTL = cable (underground)
SKY = satellite (above ground) mini dish.

The connection to the phone; This is just a cable from the rear of the digibox and is plugged into your phone socket with a splitter, this is to give you access to the wonderful world of sky's interactive television.

I'm on NTL broadband and have a separate cable to an external modem, it should not be through any phone lines.

Not sure what you mean, are you.....

Wanting to have sky installed and keep you existing phone line (NTL), if so all you have to do is plug the cable from the back of the sky digi box in the NTL junction box, where your phone connects (splitter provided) and you will then be able to use the interactive functions on sky.
