recommendations on optical drive.

I currently use an NEC 2510A dvdrw that burns DVDs fine and reads data discs fine. The problem that i am having is that I see most DVDs via online rental and the discs are never in fantastic shape. They run fine on my DVD player but i want everything to go through my media PC and the 2510a doesn't read them.

What do people use/recommend in the way of an optical drive that i should use? Would i be best buying a standalone DVD Rom only drive because the laser isn't for writing as well or would a betterRW do teh business for me?

I've never had a problem with Pioneer models, 109/110 etc. They have had no problems reading discs unreadable by Plextors :eek: .

The 110 is only £20 these days so probably worth a shot.
