Do you mean a mains step down transfomer ?
If so I use on of these-
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/240V-to-110V-Step-Down-Transformer-Adaptor-100W_W0QQitemZ270005582256QQihZ017QQcategoryZ294QQ rdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
You can buy higher rated units but I would say 100w is absolute minimum.

Maplin has their 300w step down on special when I was in their shop today. It was not the 'old' plastic case 300w, 230v in 110v out but a rather smart metal cased unit that looks pretty cool for a square black box. Cost was £14.95 each for a metal cased 300w 230v in 110v out with mains switch. It is meaty, so if you want small......but it looks VERY well made.

Nic,
Which Maplin store was it? All the ones I've contacted are quoting £39.95 for the 300w 240v - 110v.

I was in Carlisle, bought three at £14.95 each. Might get some more....there was a big stack.

I'm using the 100W Maplin one too, anyone worried about leaving this plugged in all the time when the player is on standby? Gets quite warm in a single day, should I be worried about leaving it plugged in for months?
