Headphones for Airplanes?

I need some Headphones for an upcoming holiday and want some to wear on the plane.

It will be used to listen to music via the ipod and movies on the PSP. The sound on the PSP is extremely low with normal headphones on at Home let alone on a plane so maybe one with a volume control booster?

I don't want to spend an arm or a leg but just recommend me some and I will have a look around.

Thanks

If you gonna use a pair of headphones in a noisy environment, e.g. airplanes, I'd like to recommend BOSE Quiet Comfort 2 noise cancelling headphones. You will enjoy the music without any agonising noise.

I don't know if these expensive cans are easy to drive, but you can look into their specifications on the Internet.

you'd be better off getting a half descent pair of closed headphones.

the sennheiser HD212's or maybe the sennheiser EH series.

Yeah, some closed phones like the sennheiser HD201, HD202, HD212s or EH150, EH250 would be pretty good and inexpensive.

Other wise you could look at In Ear Monitors from Shure, Sennheiser, Etymotics etc. These do a good job of blocking out outside noise.

Obviously, you could look at noise cancelling, but they are expensive and often a compromise on sound quality.

Sennheiser CX300s did me fine last time I was on a plane but I'm perhaps nots as picky over sounds as some others. I cant remember the engine noise bothering me though. I watched Akira UMD on my PSP and thouroughly enjoyed it.

£35 delivered from Play.com although I'm sure someone found them cheaper elsewhere quite recently.

EDIT: If you're wanting to spend even less then these get good reviews, especially for the price:
