Pink Floyd - Pulse

Hi, I noticed on the set up menu on the pulse dvd regarding rear speaker angles it suggests to put them instead of the usual 110 degrees you should put them at 135 degrees. Now is this because pulse was recorded and mixed in q sound or are we possibly looking at a new rear speaker angle placement here??I have moved them as suggested and find the sound is better all round,I would also have to say i own a lot of the best sounding concert dvd's already inc roger waters in the flesh and pulse is the best yet i have heard especially listening at reference level.Demo disc most definately.

Anyone else got any views on the rear speaker angle placement??

Regards

Brian

Can you guys play the higher bitrate 5.1 and, if so, on what equipment?

oh it's nice, but there being a higher bitrate [that you cannot hear] makes it a bit of a pain

I have a Sammy HD-945 & a Sony STRDB790 & everything plays nicely for me.

I can even notice the quality difference between each 5.1 track. (normally my ears are full of rubbish)

I was pleasantly surprised to find that the 640kbs stream played through my Xbox 360 and my Yamaha RX-V357 . Hopefully my newly bought Panny EX75 DVD recorder will be able to process it as well.

I have the above and can play the 640 kbps and the 448 kbps versions. However the Naim AV2 processor switches to Auto 3:2:1 in 448 but in 640 there is no auto option and no ability to play in 3:2:1. My DVD player is Pioneer 757.

Is my DVD player simply too old or is it the AV2.

Thanks in advance.

Guess it's the Pioneer then.

Anyone know what the DVD player is supposed to have which makes playback possible.

My Pioneer DV-380 and DV-696AV plays the 640kbps just fine in to a Yamaha RXV-1400RDS
How ever my Pioneer DVR-630H do not play the 640kbps, it just outputs silence.

My Pioneer 565A plays the higher bitrate fine, too. It's going into a Yamaha DSP-E800.
