Can anybody advise me on the best type of blind to use to black out my home theatre room. I would like them to be electric. Has anyone heard of electroglide?

Not heard of Electron Glide. Only people I can think of that might do electric blinds, or know of someone who does, is Silent Gliss, based in Kent.

Try www.silentgliss.co.uk and email them.

Hi There,
I am in the process of converting my loft into a Home Cinema, and I have a Velux window, which I have purchased a Electric black out blind, from Velux. This is battery operated, 1000 openings per battery, one downer, they are quite expensive.

We have just done a large install with Amx, Polaron etc and our customer wanted electric blackout blinds and romans (always a problem) .We found a company how carried out the installation from start to finish do I need to say anymore............... see the website farnborough Blind Co Limited (http://www.farnboroughblinds.com)
We used there Cm1 control unit? for voltage trigger and Relay Modules Cm1 control unit (http://members.aol.com/farnintsix/electrical_page22.htm)

There's also Somfy (http://www.simplyautomate.co.uk/search.asp?catid=182) blinds. Never tried them though - but I'll be thinking about it soon so let us know how you get on.

What kind of prices are they? I'm struggling to find much on the web.

EDIT: Sorry to resurrect such an old thread!
