no satellite signal received?
Has anyone had trouble today? I was watching tv at around 18.30-18.45 when my box lost signal. All I have left is ITV1, 2, 3, 4, bloomberg, Euronews.
but nothing else, no BBC, no movies, no sport...

My Sky signal has been playing up all night. I've given up on it now!

Ours went down at about 10:30pm, funny thing is that I was recording something which was just about to finish recording while there was no signal and it was fine. Was still down at 10:50pm, thought it might be the box, but my Sky box upstairs was also the same.

For the last couple of weeks now we have been getting the No sat signal received at around the same time during the week..Does not seem to happen at weekends but only between 4pm and 8pm weekdays..It will play up for about half hour then be fine..We have 2 boxes and they both go off at the same time so it must be something with the dish or cabling. Will be getting sky out once I am back from Holiday...
Tried all the reboots and switching on and off as per sky but still it does it..

We lost signal at about 8pm last night
Never happened before (in about 6 years)
Left it about 2 hours expecting it to come back but it didn't so I rebooted (proper unplug job) & all was well
Too much of a coincidence for these not to be connected events

Same here. Mine went off for a couple of minutes about 7pm then came back on untill about 10.30pm when it went off again. I was able to view something I had recorded SKY+ and then at gone midnight still nothing so I did a full system reset and planner rebuild and it worked fine.
Incidently does anybody else have a problem accessing their planner after they have had to unplug the box?

mine has been playing up for the last couple of days - complaining about no signal.
came home last 2 nights, turned on the tv and the message has been there both times.
i've only just had it installed (house move) and initially i thought it may be bad termination of the cables by the "engineer" but the most confusing thing is that if i access the service menu and look at signal strength/quality, both signals are between 80-100% for strength and 75-80% for quality
the only way to get it back online is to unplug the box

Mine too has been playing up for a couple of days. It was very windy round here for the last 2 days, but is much less strong now - a breeze really, so surely my signal should be back? I am now trying the complete disconnect of all connections, and will leave it for a while before I plug them all back in.
This is driving me mad!!! The only thing is, I've got HD coming on 9th August (I hope!) and so will get the engineer to check my dish alignment etc. then, if he will.
My current box is a Pace, btw.

Satellites don't last forever maybe its on its way out ,they cost millions to make and millions to put into orbit, get ready for a rise in subscriptions.

Well, the wind has gone and it's still playing up. I get no signal at all during the day, but for some reason it works (if it's going to, and this isn't always) in the evening. If I can get a signal during the day it breaks up all the time, and keeps going to the signal not received banner, then back to a breaking up picture. At the moment, it's fine, not breaking up at all.
Can anyone explain this? I've had Sky on the phone, but she said it could be the dish out of alignment, need a new LNB or my box (a Pace) could be playing up. As I'm getting HD in August, she said it would be cheaper to wait till then, but it's driving me potty!!
I have a theory that the window cleaner might have moved my dish (don't ask!!) on purpose, as when he collected his money the other night, he was looking up at it as he got in his car, the little weasel. But then why does it only work in the evening????????? And then it's only some channels, not all of them...?
Any ideas anyone? Please????????

I have been getting the no signal message for the last month or so at various times of the day. Does not seem to be any pattern and it can happen on any channel. Can switch to another channel and back again then it works for another 5 minutes or so. Have tried rebooting etc but does not seem to make any difference.
Spoke to Sky+ support yesterday but they could not do anything unless it was happening at that moment.

Useless, aren't they? The one I spoke to talked me through various tests (that I'd already tried) and it was happening at the time, but still no solution. At times, I have absolutely no signal, and the lock status is 'not locked'.
What are we supposed to do about it? They suggested that if I couldn't wait till August, then to get a local ariel/satellite company out to check my alignment......
I'm tempted to buy a cheap box from eBay just to check if it's that or not, and then go from there, a process of elimination lol

No Eurosport, BBC1, BBC2, half the music channels
I'm been having problems with my Sky Digibox the last few days, thought maybe it was the heat. I'm missing 998, 101, 102, 105, half the music channels - 349 to 354 and worst of all Eurosport, right in the middle of the most important stages of the Tour de France. Done all the usual checks and phoned SKY - they were useless, talked me through the same checks and then tells me £65 for a callout was the best they could do.
I still get the TV listings on the channels I don't get and the signal strength is sitting at three-quarters. Over the last 18 months the LNB has been changed twice - once at my expense and once at SKY's. Think it's time to disconnect completely and read more books.
