I want to buy the appropriate equipment/cables to:

1) enable me to setup my home systems e.g. sky+ digibox, DVD, VHS & PC in one room and transmit wirelessly to other rooms.

2) have flat screen panels in other rooms with their own sound sytems all wireless in these rooms i.e. if possible the 'remote' speakers in the room have no cabling. Also, be able to control the 'master' av equipment from these rooms.

Been around google and seen so many websites am now confused!

Can anyone help?

I think you're going to have problems with the wireless part with video. Most wireless video senders send composite video - because of the bandwidth to send better quality (RGB, Component etc.) isn't available. As you mention flat panels in other rooms then you're probably going to be disappointed with the quality of the picture.

If you're not overly wedded to the Sky+ and you are prepared to spend some money the you could use a Windows Media Centre Edition PC. Connect Sky via a capture card, DVD is built in as is music. XBox 360s can work as media extenders - so you can access your content using those connected to the screens in each room.
I'm not sure about the quality using a wireless LAN for this but it should give you some room to google.

I think we're still a little way off the all wireless system you're looking for though.

I don't understand why so many people hate wires ? To me they are just part of the system like speakers. If I walk into a room and see good quality cable I think - MMMM very nice.

Have you checked out The "SpeakerCraft" programmable multi room systems ?
