Talking Video transfer to PC

Hello
I have bought a new Sony DCR-TRV30E mini DV camcorder, I would like to edit my film on PC
How do I transfer my film to the PC and what Hardware and software will I require.

Firewire Pyro 1394 pci card from http://www.lynxdv.com/estore/.Look at the left hand side and click on DV editing cards.

What spec pc have you got?

Dear Leslie,

What is the price range you can afford ?
What are the specs of your PC ?
What will you be trying to achieve (is it just for holiday video footage or will you be doing DVD's later etc....... )
