sound card advice!

ok ill try to be as specific as possible:

My aim is to watch movies played on my pc and displayed on my lcd.

I have a jvc lcd dx7 and i have bought a vga cable that runs from my pc to my television, this is ok for viewing but not for sound.

What do i get to run sound from my pc?

I have a standard sound card with pink, green and blue sockets (im not a techie) can i use that to get sound from my pc onto my tv, perhaps run a cable that splits into rca ?
Or do i need to buy a tv card? Any links to suitable tv card would be appreciated.

This sort of cable should be ok but check before buying;

From what you've said you don't need a TV card.

Usually the green mini-jack socket is the audio out but that's only stereo.

What 3rd cable?

The vga to your TV, the mini-jack/phono lead to your TV and that should be it.
