Is this picture of new Panasonic Blu Ray Home Theatre correct?
List of products:
http://www.panasonic.com/consumer_el...y/products.asp
The home theatre package - 6 tall boy speakers and 2 subwoofers or is that a mirror image or something?

It has a twin centre speaker, according to the text – therefore that would still imply a 5.1 system. Can’t understand the 2 subs though…?

Like with anything of this nature, you'll allways pay abit more for the convenience of packaged items, you could build a much better seperates system for similar money.

I agree, personally I'd always go for separates. However, many people can't be hassled with doing that and find it too complicated to set up a separates system themselves.

I thought so too?
Still think it looks quite weird - 6 speakers and 2 subwoofers???

If this is correct - where would you position the 2 centre speakers??? Surely you would block the screen - or you would need the screen up nearer the roof!!!!!

The two centre speakers could go either side of the Plasma, as close as you can get them really, you would then have to space out the FL & FR to get the staging, would look strange I agree, perhaps you could mount the two centre speakers horizontally top and bottom of the screen

Yeah its great except if you go to the site and read the specs, the receiver doesn't process any of the new audio formats. Perhaps you should wait on that before you make your next purchase.
Cheers,
