Sony KF42-SX300 cleaning question

I have a KF42SX300 DLP RP TV and when the screen shows a white background u can notice several small spots of light (& I mean very light) purple and was wondering whether this is a fault or perhaps something is dirty causing it.

The TV is faultless however i can find nothing remotely similar to this problem

can the TV be disassembled for cleaning?

any help would be appreciated

Thanks

Description reads like a handful of failed/dark green pixels. If you can, try displaying a plain green image; if you have black spots then these are failed/dark pixels. However, if it doesn't bother you, just ignore it.

thx for the prompt response, but they are not dead pixels, perhaps i wasnt too clear, its like looking through a window with dried water on (i.e. dirty) it looks like the reflective surface may be mucky (if my RP TV has one) the picture is spot on apart from these anomalies, but they aint dead pixels

i'll try & get a pic on a pure white screen & post it here

In that case it's more likely dust particles on one of the LCDs. Can be easily fixed by blowing clean with an engineer's aerosol. Not a job for the feint hearted, though; you have to partly dismantle the set to get access. I'd be inclined to call a techy, unless someone can provide detailed dismantle instructions.

Re: Sony KF42-SX300 cleaning question

Has anyone risked taking their Sony RP TV apart to remove the dust & if so is it fairly easy?
It's driving me mad especially when watching football!
Failing that is there any TV repair people in the North West who carry out this type of repair?

Cheers
