Connection Help?

Hi ppl,

Ive got a Sagem 50" tv and wanted some help on how to connect my components to it. At the moment, im using a coaxial cable which i keep plugging in/out of both tv/dvd to get the sound through my amp. However, i was to keep to coaxial cable into the tv/dvd but what other cable do i use to connect the tv/dvd (mainly tv) to the amp? I tired using the red/white cable from the tv hifi output to the amp dvd part but had no luck?
