I would like to use one of the new Squeezebox 3's (I've got one of the originals in my main room) as an alarm clock.

Now I've got an infrant nas with slimserver so the server is on 24/7.

But I've been having problems finding either an amp or a mini system that supports flexible alarms (on at x, at vol y, of at z type of thing) and supports aux as the alarm source.

I think the onkyo and yamaha mini systems that John Lewis have can do it...about to go check;)

Anybody else solved this issue? either as a mini system, or as an amp/speaker combo.

I just have my Squeezebox connected to some good powered speakers and leave them on all the time.

Powered speakers as above, plugged in through a timer?

mmm, thought about that...which powered speakers?

also would like cd functionallity too, but it is less essential.

ideally I'd want to connect it to an amp or amp system with either a timer or an auto on/off. bit difficult to tell in john lewis as timer functionallity needs the remote. But the denon m35? seemed to do it.
