Hi
I have a question for all you HD-DVD and Blu-ray experts.
I assume HD-DVD players are fully compatible with HD Ready TVs in the sense that the latter are designed to display the HD signal from the former in all it's glory (hence the 'HD Ready' description).
However what about Blu-ray? I understand that this is another high definition format, however will we require 'Blu-ray Ready' TVs in order to properly view the picture from a Blu-ray player?
Or is it all related to the 720p, 1080i, 1080p/25/30/60 etc video modes - i.e. HD-DVD and Blu-ray video is put on their respective media at 1080p/60 (for example) and therefore any HD Ready TVs capable of natively playing that signal (or downscaling) will work with either HD format?
Many thanks!
