if I got the scan blu-ray drive, would I be able to play movies with it? What software would I need?

i do believe that these drives can read dvd's there fore can play dvd's. But im sure they cant read or play movies. I cant see any use for these 1st gen drives at all.

Sorry, but they do play BD movies and I was watching trailers for quite a few BD releases today on the Panasonic from a BD disc.

Sony Vio are giving a free copy of S.W.A.T with every purchase - so is this a sales gimmick??!! I think not...
