Unhappy Toshiba HD-XA1 HD-DVD help

hi there,

yesterday i try the HD-XA1 HD-DVD Player with my projector SIM2 DOMINO 30H and the sound to MARANTZ SR9600 RECEVIER with HDMI input but i wast not happy with picture and the sound the picture i try 720p was better then 1080p there is some setting or setup for the HD-XA1 and for the picture too .

about the sound was multi channgle 5.1 not dolby digital with HDMI and try all the setup that was on HD-XA1,but i did not try the 7.1 analog or coaxial and optical.

what shall i do to make the picture look better and sound dolby digital 5.1

Did you have your Sim set to Anamorphic, as recormendid by Alan Roser ( Sim MD),

As mentioned in the post that Steve linked to, dont set the Toshiba output to 720p as its pretty poor, make sure its set to 1080i.

Soundwise I believe that unless you use the 6 channel analogue outputs from the Toshiba you only get DTS. Analogue will give you Dolby Digital Plus, but all the other connections (optical, coax, hdmi), convert the dd+ signal into full bitrate DTS before sending it to your amp.
