No reviews/opinions on Sony NV U50 ?

Not seen anyone mention or review the Sony NV U50, is it a poor purchase?

I will be buying a SatNav unit over the next month or so and have a budget of £250.00, which means the Sony and Garmin Nuvi 300 (dont like TomTom).

I may know someone who is selling a brand new Sony nav. It was only bought for someone a couple of weeks ago whos about to get a new car with nav fitted so it hasnt been used. it would still have almost 12 months warranty. Let me know if your interested and i'll contact them for a price.

I dont know how it compares to the garmin though

well there was a thread on here last week. link is here

Good little unit for a good price - can be had online for under £200 now. My main problem with it is that it is very difficult to get speed cameras onto it - it can be done but requires some workarounds.

In some ways it functions like some of the earlier all in ones, albeit with a nice build and a nice screen.

If you don't need speed cameras, or bluetooth support, or mp3 player, then its a reasonable option.

But worth bearing in mind that you can get the nuvi 310 for £300 which has bluetooth for in car handsfree, and mp3 player, and it has a dedicated application to upload points of interest including speed cameras. Yes its £100 more, but good to know your options.
