I'd forget about using Crestron with the PC. I guess there may be ways to emulate a crestron processor on a PC but the cost in time and effort is not going to be worthwhile.

Currently I don't think the cheaper crestron panels support animation anyway. Colour Pronto would be much more achievable from design perspective and cost.

the only reason crestron hit me is cos there is a system omn ebay at the moment!

I fancy a larger sized remote than the pronto......the pronto is quite small and pokey......i like the idea of a 10 inch touch screen or something to that tune.....

This can be programmed using a fairly simple programme from Crestron. You need to have access to an IR learner or hope the codes you want are on their database of ir devices.

It has one way communication and a fairly basic greyscale panel. it is robust though and does have a much bigger area for bigger buttons and easier navigation than a Pronto. It will take MUCH longer for you to do the things pronto does....It does have RS232 capability for control of devices which don't have ir codes for somethings but do have RS232 ones... Also it's RF so walls or folk walking ion fornt of you when you press a button have no effect on it....

If you wanted a chunky grey remote then £375 seems a good price! Just make sure you get the software as well.....
