Denon S301 - Overheating???

Just taken delivery of Denon S301 at long last after ordering in January. Sound and picture quality are stunning.

However, after leaving the unit on for around 60 minutes I find that any CD / DVD that is removed from the unit is very hot to the touch.

Is this a normal characteristic for the S301 and other one box surround sound systems? I understood that all the amplification circuitry was built into the subwoofer box rather than in the main S301 unit, so I am a little puzzled as to what is causing all the heat build-up.

The unit has lots of ventilation, being on an open shelf with no other appliance nearby.

Any help/comments/advice would be appreciated...

It's normal for it heat up like that.

It comes from having the internals of the 2900 which also heated up a lot. If the amp was in there as well, it would most likely melt.

So, no it's not a problem.
