Long HDMI cable - 15 meters

Hi guys,

Sorry if this has been discussed many times before, I have search around but nothing about a cable this long.

I need to run a 15 meter HDMI cable from processor output to projector. No sound required.

I see DVIGear now have a cable which runs upto 1080p over 15 meters, anyone know if this would be any good ? - http://www2.dvigear.com/hdlowcoca.html

If not, I've seen a device that convert HDMI into fibre optic which should easily run over 15 meters, has anyone experienced that? And simliarly converting to CAT5, but I would imagine that would get more lose that a HDMI cable??

Any help much appriecated

Thanks
Dan

why don't you try Joe Ferdinand's powerbuy special: Bettercables' Display Magic II HDMI cables. A lot of the AVForum members have put their orders thru' recently. Seems a nice chap. Said I can return it if it doesn't suffice.

I've just ordered 12M long cable in time for the world cup tomorrow

Hello Dan_Mason

There are various options for running HDMI and DVI over CAT5 and Fibre and they work well - though they are relatively expensive.

The BetterCables Display Magic II cables we have in the PowerBuy will do 1080p over 15m and the 'PowerBuy' pricing makes them pretty attractive too

See BetterCables HDMI PowerBuy

Fire away if you have questions re BetterCables or Fibre/CAT5 solutions.

Best regards

Joe
