This occured to me after reading the other buying American thread.

I still believe crt performs better than plasma/lcd it terms of contrast, speed etc.
Obviously modern plasmas using hi def look pretty good when compared to standard crt transmissions. But how do they compare to U.S. hi def crt tvs.

In theory, could I ship over a large screen hi def (1250 lines) crt tv for home cinema purposes. I appreciate that ordinary pal transmissions couldn't be viewed. But what about ntsc dvds or hi def dvds.
Has anyone any experience of this. Our American friends perhaps, could give an opinion on an hands on comparisons, with the different technologies.
