Component Video Cables - broadcast quality Van Damme/Canare
(Power buy posted with moderator's permission)
New lower prices for AVforums UK members
All prices now include FREE delivery!
Broadcast quality component video cables, built with Van Damme Plasma Grade coax & terminated with Canare phono plugs. Professionally assembled with care & attention by db cables in Glasgow.
Van Damme Plasma Grade cable is a popular choice for analogue video connections in the professional broadcast world, where rugged but flexible cable is needed. It has the precision electrical performance necessary for transmitting analogue video over very long distances. An excellent cable choice for home cinema installations.
Canare phono plugs are quite simply the best choice for video cabling. Being crimped on, they continue the physical geometry of the cable right into the plug itself, giving an excellent impedance match and a better quality connection than cheaper soldered plugs. (We only use precision Canare tooling to prepare the cable and assemble the connectors, ensuring a perfect result every time)
Precision Canare BNC connectors can be fitted to one or both ends at no extra cost.

Standard finish
We can offer these component cable sets in two finishes. The standard product consists of three red/green/blue cables with matching flexible colour coded strain relief boots.
Prices for standard finish component cable sets:
1m - £35
2m - £39
3m - £43
4m - £47
5m - £51
Braided finish
For an additional £2/metre, we can supply the cables beautifully finished with black braiding, and the ends protected with adhesive heatshrink and colour coded red/green/blue bands. The braiding both protects the cable and makes it easier to thread through restricted spaces.

Prices for braided component cable sets:
1m - £37
2m - £43
3m - £49
4m - £55
5m - £61
How to place an order
Updated Sep-06. Due to popular demand, we can now accept payments via Nochex. Nochex accept most major UK debit & credit cards, and you don't even need to sign up as a Nochex member if your order is under £100.
Initially, please post your requirements in this thread, and I'll then send you a private message. We accept payment by PayPal or Nochex. All cables are custom built to order and we always aim to ship your cables within 48 hours of receiving your payment (excluding weekends & public holidays).
Delivery
Postage & packing costs are included in the above prices. For security reasons, we can only ship to the address associated with your credit/debit card. Please note we can only ship to customers within the UK at this time.

Our Guarantee
We want you to be absolutely delighted with your purchases. We therefore offer a no-quibble 14 day money back guarantee. Should you be dissatisfied with your purchase for any reason, we will be happy to give you a full refund so long as you return the goods to us within 14 days of you receiving them. The goods must be returned to us in mint, re-saleable condition, with all original packaging. We regret we can only refund your postage costs if the item is faulty.
All our products are covered by a 12 month warranty. Should your product develop a fault, we will be happy to repair or replace it free of charge. You are responsible for the cost of posting the item back to us, while we are responsible for the cost of sending you the replacement/repaired item.
About Us
db cables is a trading name of db audioware limited, a specialist audio engineering company run by myself, Dave Brown. Based in Glasgow, we've been supplying software to the professional media industry since 2001. That sounds quite grand, but in reality we are a small company, and it really IS me who makes your cables!
We build premium quality cables at realistic prices. Our stuff isn't marked up like some retail products - with no fancy packaging or middle men, you get better cables for less money. Every cable we make is suitable for professional broadcast & recording - and is therefore outstanding in any home system.
If you dream of "burning in" your new "cryogenically treated directional" interconnects, then we are probably not the cabling company for you. As audio enthusiasts with formal engineering backgrounds, we do NOT subscribe to the snake-oil school of cable marketing. Our cables don't make a 100 quid amp sound like it's worth 5 grand, nor do they sound better if you stick them in a freezer facing North for a few hours. We just make well engineered cables using the finest professional components available, which will last a lifetime.
All the best,
Dave

Hi Dave
If you are able to post a 1m black set tomorrow, I would like to take 1 please. I can pay the £42 by PayPal first thing. I'd prefer a 70cm cable if you were making it, but given that I'd like it asap if you have a 1m cable already made, that you could throw in the post, that would be great.
Sorry about the short notice (unsatisfactory results from my HDMI convertors, and FIFA refusing to put back the England game for me). If you can't get one in the post tomorrow, don't worry for now.
Thanks

Well I got the cables in time - thanks for making the effort to get them out so quickly (made and sent the same day)
They're very nicely made cables indeed.
