OK, I have 3 options here, not sure which one is the most cost effective though. Ebuyer is selling 300W power supply for tenner.!!! and then I can replaced the fan to make it quieter (Papst fan, I think is 80mm, can anyone confirm that?). Second option is to buy a Enermax whisper 350W PSU which I think has fan control. The third options is buy PSU from quietpc for >£65 (BTW I don't think is justified to buy such an expensive PSU). Which oone of the above is the best solution to power a AMD Athlon 1.4 Gig??

Personnally I am going to get an Enermax 350w PSU. Have had good reviews, seems to be quiet enough.
Obviously noise is one issue......but how about the quality of the power supply output? I assume that like everything else delicate and electrical, computer components will behave variably when the supply to them is variable?

Personally, I wouldn't trust a £10 PSU. I'm currently using an enermax, nto a whisper, but it's pretty quiet anyway.
Given I will be having my pc in a closed cupboard inside which resides both LCD projector and extractor fan, would you think that the noise level is still an issue?
