Spotted on AVS. Looks like Pioneer and Panasonic will not launch until after PS3...:confused:

Still leaves Samsung and maybe Sony releasing players before then though. Although surely no-one will pay $1000 for the Samsung one. I would have been tempted by the Sony one, but Toshiba have kinda spoilt me with the PQ of the much cheaper HD-A1.

I was going to post on this too. If they manage to sort out HDMI 1.3 and some sort of True-HD/DTS-HD decoding then I think its a good thing. If on the other hand they stick without these features then I cant see the point of yet another delay.

having just ventured into the HD world via a projector, it would have been tempting to indulge in a reasonably priced High Def DVD player that scaled up existing DVDs, knowing that all high def release would be the same format etc, however I won't be bothering until there is either a winner or a cheap dual standard player.

I didn't say it was due before September but that is was delayed until Nov.

Exactly. But I wanted to clarify that it never was part of the early-shipping models.
