Anyone know much about these ?
More specifically will it replace the graphics cards ? cause I have a 7800GTX that I got when it was released and dont feel like replacing it yet.

The new card calculates all the movements of objects before any frames are sent to the graphics card for rendering, so its really taking the load off the main CPU and does not produce any video output of its own, your`re graphics card is safe for now

I wouldn't be surpised if they tried to integrate the chip into motherboards. As it stands atm I can't really see it taking off (bit like quad SLI/Crossfire).

basically they are an "extra gpu" that takes some of the load off the cpu when working out graphical movements/explosions etc.
They are not a grpahics card on their own right - your 7800GTX will be fine for now!!
Eventually they will be incorporated into the gfx card itself i would guess and may even be that way when DX10 (next gen gfx cards) appear in time for VISTA.
Nothing to worry about now and only for the real hardcore, loads of money, willy waving people of this world!!

The only thing I know about this card is that it will be incompatible with DX10. Seeing as that is only 6 months away, it seems like a waste of money IMO.
Of course I could be completely wrong, as it is just what i've heard on t'internet.
Besides, isn't this thread in the wrong section?

i imagine once DX10 is around they will do a new version of it that is compatible....
however if you are not considering upgrading your card/mobo/OS for the next couple years, the PhysX card now games are taking it into consideration will certainly mean you dont need to pay out for a new CPU.....
i for one, when i got a bit of cash spare will be getting one, my 3GHz P4 is showing its age now in games, HL2 was about the last dance for it tbh...heh....if i want all the options ramped up anyhow........but with the PhysX card i can happily upgrade my 6800GTO to something in the current £300 lineup and get benefit from it, rather than being hampered by my CPU.....way i understand it, having the PhysX card will give me the same kind of difference as upgrading to a 3.6 P4 from my 3.0.....which works out a cost effective upgrade, the 3.6 will cost more still for a while...
edit: w00t! post 4k!!..heh

PC Gaming?
And you're VGA card is safe.....as the Physics card is not a VGA card....
