Just got my Toshiba A1 HD-DVD player. However, I get an error: "HDMI error 1" when connecting the A1 to the DVDO VP30. I have tried changing cables and that does not help. There are no problems running the A1 directly into my display (Panny PHD8 - dvi input, using a HDMI -> DVI cable). What is wrong here? (HDCP is set to on on the VP30).
The info screen on the VP30 says input: "HDMI - HDCP" but the signal type says: "Unknown" ?

Sounds like an HDCP issue. Another person is having problems with a Lumagen and it appears to be a know problem with older model Luma's.
Doesn't sound like a player issue if it works direct. Probably best call/email DVDO or your supplier on this this one :(

PS Have you checked AVSforum as I'm sure there must be some DVDO/HD-DVD users out there.
