Budget Tripod Review

.

Just thought I would post a link to a great tripod I recently bought.

http://www.7dayshop.com/catalog/prod...ducts_id=88789

As you can see from the reviews on the site, a lot of other people have been impressed with it too.

It's certainly sturdy enough for my needs, and light enough to make me feel happy to take it with me on an outing.

Obviously it's not going to be any good for extreme conditions and someone that needs that extra weight and build quality, but if you are like me and don't want to break the bank, then you can't go far wrong with it.

Geordie Jester - thanks for sharing this with us - for someone like me who is just starting off in "real" photography this is exactly what I need & with 8 x Five Star reviews out of 8 I am definately going to order one

A friend has a similar one to that and it is very light, ok for indoor stuff but pretty hopeless outside in all but the calmest of weather, the hook at the bottom of the support is there so you can hang a weight to add a bit more stability, my mate hung his gadget bag off it and it pulled the hook out so beware!

Yep, its horses-for-courses Zone. I have been taking quite a few long exposures that are pin-sharp, and some with that mad pin-hole camera too ! All fine. But certainly not in particularly windy conditions.

We have a fantastic tripod at work that I use, but it is so heavy that I would never want to use on my travels.

But for 12 quid, this is just what I needed. I would imagine needing to spend another 30-50 quid before there would be any major leap in performance against shake. I just know I wouldnt get the use out of it if it was any heavier.

No probs. let us know what you think when it arrives.

forgot to mention that its other great feature for this price point is the camera plate. This fits to your camera so the camera can be attached and detached quickly from the tripod.

Paul I'm in complete agreement with you and heavy and infinatley adjustable is best but only if you can be arsed to pack it and drag it about with you

I had one of these tripods for a while, and it offers a lot of bangs for your buck. It is decent enough if you have a compact......it is also light enough to carry all day long.

If you are running a DSLR (esp. if you have long lenses) then you will rapidly get fed up with it as it is as wobbly as hell.......

I have upgraded to a Manfrotto 190, and the difference is like night and day...but then it should be for 9 times the cost.

All-in-all....for £13 you can't really go wrong!

I also have one of these tripods, amazing value for money.

I have an old all ally / steel Slik tripod that I bought about 25 years ago off of a chap who had had it ages, much better quality than the 7dayshop unit but much heanvier and also the legs had scew locks on them which took ages to use.

Would not consider selling it though, may need a bit of quality support some time.
