Hi, i'm new to AV in general and have just bought a new toshiba lcd tv but i realise i'm lacking knowledge in all areas generally to do with AV. Does anyone recommend any books or websites that i can use to educate myself enough to be able to make some informed choices about buying other kit, problem solving, standards and connectivity and the like.
many thanks in advance

I'd agree with shahedz,in that when I was moving into AV a few yrs back, although I knew my way around stereo systems pretty well, there are really few if any books that are of much use, given the very rapid turnover of standards and equipment in this area.
I found pretty much all I needed to know here(and continue to do so when I upgrade or change things),and the level of overall knowledge can be quite surprising, right down to the technical level.
I know it's not perhaps what you'd been looking for in reading terms, but use the forums, and ask whatever you want....people here are very keen to help.
