WOw, seriously good quality. Razor sharp imaged arent they!

I hope that the 100 - 400L IS is my next lens and these images show how good that lens can be with a good eye and hand.

Thanks for sharing them.

Pete.

super sharp pics spanna... is that straight from the camera or with a lot of post-processing?

Hi Spanna,

Great shots. Though some of the birds are obviously stuffed, and there is no music soundtrack to any of the shots. Other than that I cant find fault.

Thanks very much. Ill dig some more out tonight.

Bristol Pete - the 100-400L is a great lens in my book, some people say it goes a bit soft at 400mm but I think thats comparing it to the 4k 500mm prime. All my shots are at 400mm and they are sharp enough for me.

Cyberkid - Most of the time I just need to USM at 140 / 0.8 / 0 in the post processing.
(apart from cropping).

bowen - Once for a few days a year I get a chance to go for those Swallow shots, that one was from 2004 I made a complete mess of the ones from 2005.
ps. Im pretty sure sold5 is joking. Im taking it as a compliment anyway.

To be frank, your pics have made me want a 100 - 400 even more and Bristol Cameras are doing them for £900.00. Anyone got a swift grand they can lend me :)
