I bought mine from Makro yesterday and it had a very slight hum when I first switched it on, it was only noticeable with the volume right down. Since then, I haven't heard it at all, I have just tried to hear it again with the volume down again and all I hear is the fan,

My mate has also bought a Makro set and his has no hum either!

Maybe Makro have got newer sets or is it something to do with them being the G4 and not the G4T models?

fastshow,
I've got mine on the Sagem metal 'Wave' stand and my mate has his on the wooden stand his 28"crt was on, for now, he couldn't resist buying it today when he seen mine in action. He is looking for the wave stand too.

Blaster,
I've tried to look at the base(underside), I can only see the front end of it and what I see is plastic, not a plastic plate though, more of a criss cross web pattern! if that makes sense????

Hope this helps guys!

Got my Sagem from Makro and as far as I can tell there is no hum although I have been told I'm as deaf as a doorpost in the past. That may have something to do with it. No honest, it's very quiet and it is the r906 model.
