Pink Output - Component Video.

Hi Guys,.

Any idea why a Harmon Kardon DVd-25 outputs a pink dvd component output display to Pioneer PDP436SXE plasma. The cable is a 3m Ixos component, tested fine from a different setup (a pioneer dv575a dvd to epson tw10 proj)?

Thanks..

Mark..

If you're getting a pink output thru component only then, first I'd suggest you check the cables are plugged into the right connectors at either end. By plugging in wrong plugs then you would expect to get an image tinted in wrong colour.

Bear in mind that the colours on the cable may not correspond to the colours on your equipment you're using (sounds silly, but try it).

The fact that you're getting a picture means (to my knowledge) that the cable of the 3 that carries the Sync is connected fine both ends (often green connector if I remember rightly). Try switching the other 2 cables round at either the DVD end or plasma end 9bot not at both of course).

Just the first thing worth checking I think.

Any more in depth I probably couldn't help you more apart from standar fault-finding process.

Hope this helps

Dan.
