How much have you men spent?
Just wondering how much you men are prepared to admit you have spent on AV gear ! OK.. I will rephrase that.. how much have you lot spent ?
Wonder how many fancy holidays us women could have been on for the same money.. hmm... where is that holiday brochure....and the free ads items for sale submission page.....

well since they say the average woman spends £3,000 a year on cosmetics and beauty products / treatments ..... you only have to stay together for 4 years to break even
If it's a 10 year relationship, they already owe you 18K worth of equipment

if you include shoes into the equation then that 18k would probably double .

I've spent about £5K over 3 years or so colating the gear in my signature. If you include the cost of what I've upgraded from its probably £8.5K over 6 years (minus about £1K for resale of old bits, and a lot of what I have brought has been reused in the master bedroom).
But I don't smoke, drink, womanise, buy expensive clothes (except for work) or gamble so I consider it to be my one vice. I also only try to spend unbudgeted extra cash like overtime or bonus money and not all of that either as a good portion of that goes on weekends away, days out, presents for the family.

Only about £2k so far. The big spend will be when it's time to buy a Plasma, and Media PC. About another £3k for that!

I've probably paid well over £10K, though some of my kit can be obtained much cheaper now (projector and DVD being good examples). However the core of my system, (Amp, Speakers, Sub) would still cost easily cost £5000 to replace with the same quality.
If you include all my audio components aswell (Tuner, CD recorder, MD, Turntable) + cables, mounts, universal controllers etc... then you'd certainly be looking at over £10,000.
But look at this way, your holiday will be over in 2 weeks..... your AV equipment should last you 10 years.
