Sony DAV S800

Does anyone know if there is a way to output the DVD audio from this deck into a seperate amp via the optical connector.
It will output sound from CD in this way, no problem at all, but am I missing something in a menu somewhere or is my friend going to have to bite the bullet and change player as well.

Any ideas ?

If it has a line out (i.e for a MD) then you should be ok, if its not listed on the rear then no you cannot, there won`t be anything in the menus for this, it will just listed on the rear connections if its available. I don`t think the DAVS800 has this though, all in ones don`t usually have this option, as they are not designed to be "upgradable!"
