Has anyone watched any 1080i on their 1366 x 768 screen?

Now that it looks as though Sky will broadcast in 1080i exclusively, has anyone watched any 1080i material on their 1366 x 768 panels?
If so, can you post details of what TV you have watched it on and your impressions of PQ.

Hopefully the results will be good and nip any panicking in the bud

I feed my 1366*768 LCD with 1080i, looks far better than 1:1 mapped 720p although that may have more to do with the use of borders by the Philips and it's refusal to accept a 1366*768 source via the PC or iScan.

So no worries about watching 1080i on a 1366*768 panel and perhaps a little basic but scaling down is better than scaling up

No, it seems that EVERYTHING will be 1080i.

Can a 1080i signal be processed by a de-interlacer, and if it can are we then watching a 540P signal?

The footie on Premiere HD is beamed at 1080 and looks very nice indeed.

I'd imagine SKY want to latch onto the most consumers, and therefore appeal to the lowest common denominator.

Most people (not the AV nuts) will have a 32-40" panel with a res of 1366*768, and SKY want the HD to look as good as possible to ensure maximum uptake of their HD service to future and current customers.

Therefore, I am hoping that following their tests and trials that 1080i looks as good if not better than 720p on these common LCD screens.

I think the above is what most panels will do and this is the worry for some. I'm sure though for most its not a problem as 1080i looks great on any panel.

Its just that the feeling now is Sky HD will be better on a 1080i panel which can deinterlace properly than on a 768 panel.

I think it would be wise for everyone to wait until it's here before making any sweeping statements.

I've only got my 360 to go off, 720p looks smoother, but that probable just how the game has been written.

The high def i've downloaded and watch on my 44DLP looks ace (720P only as my pc can't handle anything better) However, the sky hd clips available for download are 1080p, and look great at at 1366 x 768.

What is the point of having a 720p or 1080i option in the box (ref sky pp pres) if all there gona broadcast is 1080i?

Less than 4 weeks to go until we all find out for real!

All the content I have on HD sat from Europe is 1080i and watched on a Panny LCD - all looks brilliant to me - even the sport. I set the box to output at 720p and could see no difference at all.

I can set my scaler to output 1080i, 768p or 720p. 1080i does suffer slightly from motion related artifacts compared with 768p (best) or 720p (almost as good).

All the US DVHS 1080i films I've seen on my PHD8 look absolutely first class, and if SkyHD hit this bench mark I for one will be very happy.

I've downloaded some 1080i demos and played them through my xbox 360 into my 42PHD8, and it looks very good indeed.

Can't wait for skyhd, was meant to get it today but I've been bumped til the 9 June, as long as I get it for the world cup I'm not too bothered.
