DVB-T cards are all about reliability and sennsitivity.

A Black Gold GDI card will serve you well. Note that these are sometimes known as the Sweetspot MCE cards.

An alternative is the Nova-T. As you can't mix analogue and digital tuners in MCE then the mixed tuners aren't worth bothering with.

If you are feeling lucky, then you could see whether the 2400i works for you. Many have given up on this card, and others just haven't seen the light yet Maybe better drivers are just around the corner, but the latest 255 drivers were the last straw in problomatic drivers that made the decision for me to send mine back! Some people are still happy with this card. Note that my aerial gives me 100% quality and 91% signal strength, and a prefect signal from may other DVB-T tuners.

The choice is all yours. If you have 2x PCI slots available, then your safest option is a pair of GDI or Nova-T's.

A couple of points You can have analogue and digital in one box - it's just that MCE won't recognise both at the same time. I have a 2400i (more of that later) in MCE and a Hauppauge 150 ia a spare slot, using WinTV (scheduler) I can record analogue and watch the recordings through My Videos. I admit it ain't the slickest way of doing it but I can have both!! As for "not having seen the light" regarding the 2400i; yes, I admit I had some problems with multiple channels etc but it has worked perfectly since; recording all manner of channels at the same time and in any combination. So for me it has done what it said on the box and with aplomb and I would reccommend it

Terratec 2400 twin tuner

35 pages of complaints. My first post is number 4 out of 541 (Dec 2005)
There is also a dedicated thread just for problem Id's reported to Terribletec.

I also have a GDI and a Nova-T. I have never had any problems with drivers with any of these cards or any missed recordings.

The latest 255 drivers do work for some but not for others. Terratec have not got a clue why this is.
as I said, you can take you chance...

Likewise I was there in the beginning stating that the card worked...Then I was able with some help of a another forum member to replicate the problem which I just didn't see before! On top of that I ran it next to a STB and noticed it was running slow!? It was getting way behind normal TV....The 255 drivers did not sort any of that out.....

Nebula has proven incredibly stable for me....

Dejongj; I appreciate that this may be a little off topic but would you explain your statement - "I ran it next to a STB and noticed it was running slow!? It was getting way behind normal TV". How can the signal (?) run slow, is it something to do with the processing of it? And, does it matter; since time is relative when watching TV? I'm not trying to be contentious.

That one is discussed in various other threads.....Basically one PCI card and one USB card built onto the PCI card so you'll need a USB port as well....

This was discussed in length in the 2400i trouble thread....I don't think anyone else ever bothered putting it next to a STB...My guess is that it is due to the error correction (BER!?) that has to take place and thus the card is starting to run behind real-time....

Yes it does matter when both of your tuners are busy and you need to switch to a different MUX as the programme could already be running and then you get back into realtime and may miss some of the programme....Rather obvious I would have guessed!
