I need a few opinions, regarding the safety of certain sights to buy from. PacificDVD seem like a good site ,when I tried to register they wanted my credit card details immediately before I had even purchased anything.

Thats a little off putting, however if anyone has opinions on this company I would appreciate their help.

I used to buy all R1 DVD and a lot of special interest DVDs (Animes, American Football) from them, in 2004 at some stage they got hacked, my credit card was debited with 200 odd punds from some dodgy company.
here's the thread from 2004:

I still use them occasionally as i have set up a cahoot account with a webcard,
the details and numbers from this card are generated on transaction and are only valid for that single purchase, so they're useless if they get in the wrong hands.

You may be better using Movietyme or Axel music. Bith of which have very good reputations

Any company can get hacked - no matter how big they are. Its just the luck of the draw. I got hit by the dvdpacific hacking like many people - I was the one who started the thread and warned everyone on here. BUT i still use them and will continue to use them they provide imo an excellent service.
You just have to make sure you use a CC that is covered for online purchases and check its statement each month to make sure nothing odd is on it.
Dont be so worried about entering your CC details - many sites ask for your details to be stored - The Biggest online retailer Amazon does this.
You just have to use common sense, if you are unsure of a web site you can always ask here. Another thing you should do is make sure your Pc is clean a number of nasty worms/trojans/keyloggers etc etc are about.

I use play.com mostly, as they are very reliable.
also www.dvdfromkorea.com for asian films and collector sets.
cdwow are pretty good also, but I stay away from unheard sites or at the least I search forums for opinions,

I agree with play.com and playusa.com, ordered hundreds of movies from them, no problems at all.
